Teaching Assistant – Barrow-in-Furness

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary

Start Date: ASAP (ongoing covering sickness)

Working Hours: 8:45 am–3:15 pm (30-minute lunch)

Our client is a welcoming and supportive primary school in South Cumbria, and they are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.

This is a full-time opportunity supporting pupils in Year 2 (KS1).

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Support teaching and learning for Year 2 students.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to accelerate progress.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with class teachers and the wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Have experience working with primary-aged children.
• Be Level 3 qualified.
• Have a current Enhanced DBS.
• Be available to start ASAP.
• Be patient, caring and adaptable.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Have high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
• Be committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
